Affiliate Guidelines

If you have not yet, please read the U4I Network Values before proceeding.

United4Iran is a global network in support of human and civil rights in Iran. As such, U4I supports, promotes and links local activities and groups. U4I aims to provide information on all regional and student groups with aligned mission and values on the U4I website. We need to have few basic collective agreements to ensure that all activities and groups promoted on our website are aligned with our collective missions and values. This way we can protect all of our collective work.

By becoming an ‘affiliate’ of United4Iran, a local group is simply agreeing to have its contact information on the U4I website, to maintain aligned missions and values, and to agree with the few guidelines listed below. Affiliates remain fully independent entities.

U4I affiliates and the network agree with the following content policies:

  • Activities and mission are non-partisan focusing on human and civil rights.
  • We never align with any government or political party. We do not take funds from government agencies.
  • We are against military intervention and blanket sanctions.
  • We believe in non-violent peaceful means for social change.

U4I affiliates and the network agree with the following network policies:

  • The network and each affiliate only represent their respective organizations at all times, including in materials, when speaking to the media, and at international gatherings or conferences. For example, U4I can only speak on behalf of the coordinating body, and each group can only speak on the behalf of itself, unless a prior agreement has been arranged.
  • Each group or network is accountable and responsible for its actions, fundraising, work plan implementation, and other relevant organizational tasks. As a network, U4I supports and links affiliates, but is not involved in the coordination and management of activities of affiliates at the local level.
  • Some local groups have used the U4I name in combination with their city name. However, these names cannot be legally registered. Only the U4I network can use the name “United4Iran” and “U4I”.
  • United4Iran is a global network and not a chapter organization. Having “United4Iran” as part of the local name as well the network’s name has caused some confusion. As of  March 2010, United4Iran asks new groups to identify a name that does not include “United4Iran.”
  • The U4I name and logo can be used for specific events that U4I has agreed to sponsor in advance. To find out how to have your event be sponsored by U4I, please click here.
  • The U4I logo cannot be changed or used without permission. The U4I name and logo cannot be used without permission or for commercial sales.

How do I become an affiliate?
Simple! Fill out the form below to indicate that you agree with the above content & network guidelines. Please note that by agreeing to be an affiliate, you and your organization permit U4I to post this contact information on the site. Alternately, you can provide alias names.

It is an honor to work with you and your organization towards a more just Iran!
